End of Season Strip and Clean, why have your gun serviced?
In the gun trade we have a term called “the lawn mower syndrome” this is where a gun has not been used for some length of time and is suddenly required for an important shoot only to find there is problem. Many guns are subject to hard use during the shooting season and when used regularly for clay pigeon shooting, all of this taking place in a wide variety of whether conditions.
Damage and malfunctions do occur but through regular maintenance these can be minimalised.
Strip and Clean
Firstly we visually inspect your shotgun and check for things like a good fit of the barrels with the action, weather the trigger pull is too heavy or too light and that your gun's extractors are timed correctly.
Next your gun is stripped right down to the last spring and pin. Every component is cleaned, polished if required and worn pins are re-blued
Your gun is then oiled, lubricated and re-assembled.
Finally we check we are happy with the function of your gun and you are ready for another season's shooting.
